Every crystal you bring home carries energy—sometimes from the earth where it formed, sometimes from the hands that mined, shipped, or sold it. Before you blend its vibration with yours, it needs a reset.
Cleansing and charging are how we “tune” a crystal to our frequency. Think of it like clearing static before having a conversation with the divine. When your crystals are clear and aligned with intention, they become powerful conduits for your magic.
Let’s explore how to cleanse and charge crystals in witchcraft, then dive into practical ways to use them in your spells and rituals.
🌬 Cleansing Your Crystals

“I charge this crystal with the energy of protection and peace. May it amplify and sustain that vibration in my life.”
Moonlight & Sunlight Charging (Spirit Element)
The Moon and Sun are two of our most potent sources of energy.
Moonlight: Lay crystals on a windowsill during the Full or New Moon. Moonlight infuses stones with intuitive, gentle energy—perfect for emotional healing, dream work, and psychic growth.
Sunlight: Use sun energy for stones that love brightness—like Citrine or Tiger’s Eye. Sunlight charges confidence, motivation, and vitality.
Witch Tip: Avoid sun exposure for sensitive crystals like Amethyst and Rose Quartz, which can fade over time.
